Emily has posted a thread on the forum already but we've not had much of a response so far. Tell us about your favourite walkers' pub, and why we should feature it as our Pub of the Month.
Could it be that TGO readers are predominantly teetotal? Or do they prefer a dram or two in the privacy of their tent or bothy, as opposed to visiting some of the great pubs in areas like North Wales, the Lakes, Yorkshire Dales or the Scottish highlands.
I don't really believe that for a moment and we really want to hear from you. Just tell us your favourite pub for that post-hike beer, why it should be the TGO pub of the month, and we'll do the rest.

Favourite pubs? It is cliched to say the Clachaig or the Kingshouse (although I really enjoyed staying at the Kingshouse at Easter watching the deer in the car park.)
How about the Bothy Bar behind the Atholl Arms Hotel in Blair Atholl? Superb food and beer, always friendly and a convenient stop off the A9 on the way back to Edinburgh.
Or the Seaforth in Ullapool for great fish and chips and beer.
The Applecross Inn! Of course I forgot that one! Great food, incredible views and a campsite behind the pub!

Perhaps the more remote pubs are my favourites. What about the Station House at Corrour? Not exactly a pub, but offering great food, friendly service, and cold beer from the fridge, all in the middle of a shooting estate miles from anywhere. Of course, there's plenty of venison on the menu. Or the Old Forge at Inverie. Probably too expensive for most hill walkers to eat there nowadays but a great place to drink and blether. cheers

Where do I start? The Riverhead Brewery Tap in Marsden near Hudderfield. Beers are brewed in the pub and named after the reservoirs in the surrounding Pennines - the higher the level of the reservoir the stronger the beer. Walk around the reservoirs and then sample the beer after. A great day out.
The Walker's Bar at the Old Dungeon Gill Inn in Langdale has to get a mention with so many walks to do around it including Scafell Pike returning via Bowfell and then finish the day with some of the great local beer they sell.
There are alot more but the Kinlochewe Hotel impressed with good food, beer from the Skye Brewery and dramatic views of Slioch, Beinn Eighe and Loch Maree from the bar after having spent a day climbing in the Torridon Hills. Hard to beat!

In Scotland the Bridge of Orchy Hotel a welcoming bar and very good food. Sadly the Clachaig and the Bothy Bar in Blair Atholl fall realy short on the food side, which is a shame for such atmospheric pubs with good beer, i.e. real ale.
