The Trinity is an interesting top as it’s made from fabric in which each fibre is encapsulated in an ultra-thin waterproof polymer. Epic fabrics are said to be virtually waterproof while still being very breathable.
I’ve found this to be true with some Epic garments I’ve used in the past but not with the Trinity. It’s certainly very water-resistant – though not fully waterproof as the seams aren’t sealed and torrential rain does penetrate the fabric eventually – but the breathability is less than on other waterproofs and condensation formed inside after only a couple of hours walking. In design the Trinity is functional with a hood that moves with the head, wide cuffs for ventilation and a mapsize chest pocket. The neck zip is rather short. A longer one would be better for ventilation. The chest pocket could be a little lower too for easier access. The price is quite high.
