The Sciroccos are unusual sandals. They’re open-toed but have an upper foot covering fastened by lacing of the type usually found in closed toe sandals.
The uppers are slightly stretchy and strips of elastic on either side connect the heel section with the instep. The sandals are quite narrow and just fit me without any need to tighten the lace. However the stretch link between the heel and the instep means that the heel strap has a great deal of give in it and is not as secure as in sandals with an adjustable strap and no stretch. The enclosed uppers are hotter than a more open sandal. The shaped footbed has a slight pattern and is non-slip. It curves up at the toe and has raised edges here, at the heel and on the sides. Cushioning is good and the sole grips well. It’s flexible in the forefoot but stiff at the heel so it doesn’t twist from side to side.
