The Crusoes are good value for money but not as well designed as other sandals including the Hi-Tec Tahoma at the same price.
More foot cover is provided than in sandals with just three narrow straps, with a band of leather linking the front section with the instep. The straps are long enough for good adjustability, comfortable against the skin and hold the feet in place. The firm rear strap can be removed so the sandals can be used as slip-ons for casual use. The uppers, then, are fine. The footbed however is not as comfortable or supportive as on other sandals. It’s not shaped to the contours of the foot but flat, just sloping from the heel to the toe. The surface of the footbed is quite firm and has a pattern cut into it, the edges of which can be felt against the skin. The footbed isn’t raised at all at the heel or the toes either. Cushioning is fine and the sole grips well. The sole is quite flexible.
