Shooting outdoors
By TGO Staff
This year’s Keswick Mountain Festival (18th-22nd May) will include the festival’s biggest ever photographic competition.
The competition will have three categories – landscape, outdoor action and outdoor people – and is sponsored by Aquapac, the waterproof case brand.
Category winners will receive £250 worth of Aquapac waterproof gear comprising a Submersible SLR Camera case for taking photos in and around the water; a Stormproof padded waterproof SLR carrying case; a waterproof backpack with 25-litre capacity; and a submersible compact camera.
The category runners-up will receive £85 worth of Aquapac kit comprising a Stormproof padded waterproof SLR carrying case; a waterproof map case; and a Stormproof Pouch.
The competition is open for entries now – send your submissions via the festival website (see link below). Judging will take place on the 29th April 2011 and winning entries will be publicly displayed at the festival.
The 2011 Keswick Mountain Festival has a packed programme of activities, challenges and inspirational speakers, including Sir Chris Bonington, Ray Mears and Tim Emmett. This year’s Hike section is sponsored by TGO Magazine and Trekmates and anyone signing up for a hike will receive a free Trekmates gift.
Also taking place as part of the festival is the National Academy of Sport and Outdoor Photography, which saw its first outing at last year’s Kendal Mountain Festival and provides the opportunity for both amateurs and professionals to learn from some of the best outdoor sports photographers in the UK.
