Kathmandu’s Head Torch Phantom 180 promises to provide a beam distance of 140m, using a Rebel 120 bulb which produces 180 lumens, and seven hours of battery life. This 345g gadget also features four light modes (high, medium, low and SOS signalling), focus and thermal control, a rear safety light, a tilting head and a removable vertical strap. Kathmandu also claims that this product, which is available for £59.99, is water-resistant.
Also available in the range is the Hand Torch Sabre 85 Hybrid (£29.99) which uses an XP-E Cree LED and promises up to 85 lumens for up to 1 hour, water-resistance, a periscope design for hands-free forward light projection and features four lighting modes; the Camp Lantern LED 400 with Remote (£44.99) uses 4x1 watt Nichia LEDs to provide up to 400 lumens of light output, a dimming control, a remote which works as a torch and an international SOS signal for emergency use; the Hand Torch Solo / Pull Dynamo (£19.99) is equipped with three LED bulbs which can last for up to two hours, can be used as a charger for electronic devices and can be charged itself with solar power and a dynamo pull charge; finally, the Book Light LED (£9.99) has four LEDs with a dimmer function, an adjustable head and a book-clipping option.
