Hi-Tec has announced the launch of the new Sierra collection for Spring/Summer 2012. Modelled on the Hi-Tec Sierra boot introduced in 1978, the new range retains the lightweight and breathable characteristics that remember the original light hiking boot.

There are five main products in the range: the Sierra Trek WP and a 'Lite' version, theSierra Lite Low without the ankle cuffs, the Sierra sneaker, and the Sierra mid.

The range features Hi-Tech's ion-mask™ technology, a thin, breathable membrane built into the footwear that repels water. The makers also claim it resists the absorption of water and dirt meaning that the boot will not pick up extra weight in wet weather, while the monomer layer also helps guard against stains.

The i-Shell is patented Hi-Tec technology which, it is claimed, enhances the fit and support of the boot. The midsole is lightweight OrthoLite and the 3D Counter Balance technology is designed for stability and cushioning.

Helen Durant, the Hi-Tec UK Marketing Manager says: “The brand new Sierra Collection takes inspiration from the definitive and original hiking boot from 1978. Made with the highest quality materials and featuring ground-breaking technology, the latest Hi-Tec range features every type of footwear needed by the modern man to overcome the toughest terrain, be it the great outdoors or the urban jungle.”
