A new product aims to make it possible to produce high quality coffee without the need for filters, pots or bulky equipment.

The Grower’s Cup is a durable lightweight bag filled with speciality fair trade coffee that works like a cafetiere, but after pouring the first one and a half cups, the brewing process stops so the remaining coffee won’t go bitter.

The bag, described by its makers as a “disposable French press,” is prepared by pouring in half a litre of hot water and waiting while it brews for five to eight minutes, producing around three cups of coffee.

It will cost £2.50. For information on stockists, contact the distributors.
