Outdoor Pursuits Scotland is back with a bang this weekend at The Royal Highland Centre in Edinburgh.

5,000 visitors are expected through the doors after a very successful first show last year. This year, visitors can look forward to over 100 stands at the show, a 33% increase on 2011. Coupled with lots of interaction and presentations, there is going to be something for everyone at the weekend long exhibition.

One of our partner’s, Decathlon, will have a massive retail presence, with up to 70% off selected ski and snowboard gear and lots of other discounts to get you kitted out for your next outdoor pursuit. The all new food market will have a welcome presence offering the very best in Scottish produce.

There are also lots of prizes to be won including a kayak course worth £600, a bicycle worth £350, tents, activity days and much, much more.

Some of the highlights at this years’ show include:

  • Ben Savage and Savage Skills, his amazing mountain bike display team are back by popular demand and performing their new routines three times a day.
  • Listen to Dean Dunbar talk about his love of everything extreme and outdoor – and how he enjoys it all despite being blind.
  • The Bushcraft team will be on hand to teach survival skills in their interactivity area.
  • The Easy Ski Systems indoor ski slope, including instructors, will excite many.
  • A chance to test your skills on the whacky Segway!
  • Let the kids loose on the fully supervised children’s BMX skills course.
  • Make your own smoothie by cycling hard on the Edinburgh Bicycle Cooperative stand!
  • Try the climbing wall and ride the waves on the sailing and surfing simulators.
  • Test your talents with Laser Clay Pigeon Shooting from Team Challenge Company

Plus much more

Andrew Richardson, Managing Director of The Scotsman, said, “Following on from the success of the first year of the Outdoor Pursuits show, we are delighted that our plans to make Outdoor Pursuits Scotland bigger and better in 2012 are coming to fruition.  Scotland has a wealth of outdoor activities for enthusiasts to enjoy - from hiking and camping to skiing and mountain biking. Interest in these activities is growing at an incredible rate and the aim of the Outdoor Pursuits show is to capture the experience under one roof - bringing the outdoors indoors! With nearly 100 stands and a fantastic selection of interactivities, presentations and retail opportunities, this truly is an unmissable event for the whole family to enjoy.”
