The TGO Challenge might be the best annual backpacking event in the world but by no means is it the only one! Here’s a selection of others you might care to try. If you know of others, please let us know!
The Fjällräven Classics
Swedish gear company Fjällräven has organised two events in the beautiful mountains of Swedish Lapland since the 1970s.
The Fjällräven Classic is a 110km wilderness trek, while the Fjällräven Half Classic offers an excellent 55km pre-summer adventure sampling the highlights of the 27-km Gästrikeleden Trail.

Over The Hill Club
The OTHC is a very special, welcoming club comprised in the main of TGO Challengers, old and new.
Formed in 1989, members hold several well-attended meets throughout the year, usually in hotels, bunkhouses or, of course, tents. Overseas meets have also been held, in Morocco, Poland, the Dolomites, Corsica, Slovenia, the Austrian, French, Italian and Swiss Alps and even Holland.
