
The mountains of Snowdonia contain 14 summits over the height of 3000ft/914m which makes it the most mountainous region in England and Wales. Rich in mountaineering heritage it's no coincidence that the Western Cwm on Everest in named after the Welsh word for corrie.

The area south of Porthmadog and north of the Brecon Beacons. Cadair Idris is one of the most popular hills and the long distance route of Glyndwr's Way traverses much of the region.

Popular walking areas include the Black Mountains, the Brecon Beacons and the Gower Peninsula. The Pembrokeshire Coastal Path is one of the most popular coastal routes in the country.
