Argh. This Craghoppers Akim nearly a good jacket at a reasonable price. Frustratingly, the pocket isn’t sewn in, meaning that when I pull my hand out of it I drag the whole thing out, even when my hand is dry. In the wet and cold it’s even worse. The price is good, so if you are looking to save pennies, it could be worth giving it a sew-up yourself.

Other than this annoyance, it’s a reasonable jacket although towards the heavier end at 451g. The price reflects the lower fill power than any here at 500, it’s also duck down as opposed to goose down, which isn’t as fine and traps less air, and therefore it isn’t as warm as others here. There’s an adjustable hem, and a zipped interior pocket. It’s merely OK, but for £20 you could have the Outdoor Research pullover, which is at least worth the extra money.
