The Kiwi Pro are a bargain at £45. They are super stretchy, just as well because the fit is slightly tighter than most of the others, especially around the bum. I also like that they come in three different lengths, although the ‘Long’ were only just long enough – I’ve always had a problem with hiking trousers being too short. The Kiwi Pro are pretty basic. There are four zipped pockets: two hand pockets, one down the right leg (too small for a map) and one rear pocket. There’s no mesh, so they don’t allow ventilation – however, for all but the hottest days, the material, while being 96 per cent polyamide, feels light and natural. There are no zips or tightener on the ankle cuff. They have a DWR finish, but this only gives the merest protection after a couple of washes – you’d need overtrousers. They are also UPF40+ protected. They are perfectly adequate, very stretchy, and a bargain at this price. They’ll sell loads.
